Ajax manager disappointed at the sale of Antony

Alfred Schreuder has admitted his disappointment at the sale of Antony to Manchester United. The money-driven negotiations for the Brazilian have left the Ajax manager a sad man.

After a protracted engagement with Ajax and the rebellious attitude of Antony, the Dutch club have finally agreed to sell the Brazilian to Manchester United. After weeks of holding out and insisting on no sale, Ajax saw their resolve broken by a massive bid for Antony.

Manchester United have been making buys that indicate the club is finally serious about returning to the big league. The Red Devils are competing in the Europa League this season, which has made it difficult to land some of their top targets. Among the players they failed to sign includes Frenkie de Jong.

The Dutchman could not resolve his issues with Barcelona and was not keen on playing in the Europa League. Irked by the stance of the former Ajax player, Manchester United moved to other targets where they have been successful. The latest to join the Old Trafford outfit is Antony.

Manchester United finally land Antony

The Red Devils have finally opened the bag and are recruiting impressive signings this summer. Perhaps the losses in their first two games of the season convinced the hierarchy at the club that some of the players at the club do not possess the prerequisite to get United back to their former glory.

The Manchester outfit failed to sign Frenkie de Jong this summer and shifted their gaze to Casemiro, who Real Madrid was ready to sell. The Brazilian boosts the ranks at Old Trafford and gives the Mancunian side some needed steel in the middle.

Manchester United have also succeeded in landing another Brazilian. The Red Devils have been pursuing Antony, with Ajax insisting on no sale. Their resolve was finally broken, with Antony signing a deal to join the Red Devils for a figure that rises to €100m.

A disappointed Ajax manager

Manchester United might not be a club with the clout to attract the biggest names in the business, but some talented players still hold them in high esteem. Despite their failure at convincing some of their targets, the Red Devils have landed Ajax winger Anthony in a massive €100m deal.

The Brazilian did not feature in the weekend game between Ajax and Utrecht following the agreement between both clubs.

Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder confessed that he was disappointed at the fallout of things. Schreuder is not impressed with the money-driven negotiations for the services of the Brazilian winger.

The Brazilian continued to push for a move away from the Amsterdam side. Antony refused to show up for training before Ajax decided to negotiate with Manchester United.

Schreuder was a bitter man and couldn’t hide his disappointment after the victory over Utrecht. Nowadays, everything is about money. Schreuder claims it is a sad situation, but it is the state of the world now.
