Harry Kane hits Premier League milestone after brace against Nottingham Forest

Two Harry Kane goals were enough to help Tottenham dispatch off a feisty Nottingham Forest. The brace takes the Spurs man to 187 Premier League goals and joint-third in the competition’s history with Andy Cole.

Tottenham continue to make a big statement about their intentions this season as they beat Nottingham Forest. The north London side are now third on the table, behind Manchester City on goal difference.

The main takeaway from the game was Harry Kane, who, despite missing a penalty, still scored a brace to take his Premier League all-time goals to 187.

Another point to note is how Nottingham Forest tested Tottenham and can be said to be unfortunate at not getting anything out of the game. Perhaps Conte’s methods should be questioned despite the Italian getting the results.

Harry Kane goes joint third in Premier League all-time scoring chart

Tottenham continued their fine streak this season as they dispatched Nottingham Forest 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. The north London club were not at their imperial best, but they got the business done with a win over the newcomers. Under Antonio Conte this season, Spurs have continued to ride high and are making a big statement about challenging for the Premier League.

Harry Kane was not at his best last season, but the Englishman is already flying high this term. The two goals he scored against Forest brought his tally to four and joint second on the scorers' chart. He sits behind Erling Haaland, who has six goals.

Overall, it also brought his Premier League all-time tally to 187 and joint third with Andy Cole. He is now behind Wayne Rooney on 208 and Alan Shearer, who tops the chart with 260 goals.

Harry Kane still has time to catch up with Rooney and Shearer. If he continues like this, it is only a matter of time before he surpasses the two Englishmen. Unfortunately for Kane, despite his goal-scoring heroics, the striker is yet to win any team title.

Tottenham dispatched a naive Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest took on Spurs with a win and a draw from three games and fancied their chances against the north London side. It was a fast start to the game, with Harry Kane scoring a fortuitous fifth-minute goal to give Spurs the lead. The England international scuffed his shot. It went through a sea of legs to find the bottom right corner of Dean Henderson’s goal.

Forest tested Tottenham and had several opportunities to score but lacked the killer touch to finish off a Spurs side on the ropes.

The second half continued on the same note, with Spurs winning a penalty. Dean Henderson guessed right to make a fine save off Harry Kane’s strike.

The bell continued to swing both ways but was eventually over as a contest when Kane met a nicely placed Richarlison cross into the bottom left corner of Henderson’s goal.

Nottingham Forest will rue the missed chances and hope they are more clinical in front of goal moving forward. The newly promoted side are 14th on the log with four points.

Nottingham Forest next take on Manchester City on Wednesday, with Spurs away to West Ham in a London derby on the same day.
